Particular chemokines ligate only with leukocytes that bear appropriate receptors, while leukocytes migrate along chemokine gradients. The selectin family of cellular adhesion molecules mediate function/migration of circulatory cells: L-leukocytes; E-endothelial cells; P-platelets and endothelial cells.
